Lost in thought

My life is like a scrap of steel;
Without form, void, and of no use.

But I’m picked up and carefully tossed into the coals.
The flames scorch me; they melt my thoughts.
My hopes are seared as the blaze softens my steel self.

As I know I cannot bear this anymore
I feel myself being pulled away and taken from the sulfur.
But I’m placed onto an anvil and I look up.
I see the hammer coming down.
I cringe and my burning body of steel takes in the force.
Again… Again… the hammer pounds me.
I feel myself being twisted, pounded…formed.

When the pain of this overbears me and is again too much;
I’m carefully placed into the fire again… Again…
It goes on until I’m formed to the desired figure.
A chisel… my refined point chills even me.

The Blacksmith has formed me, the scrap of steel.
Now I’m used against the void and formless block of stone.
The Artist again takes his hammer – he pounds me against the rock.
Now I, that shapeless piece of steel, am forming another.

In the end it will be beautiful; a Masterpiece.

Every evening my Master and Maker’s Son
Carefully, and with a loving gleam in His eyes,
Washes me clean; cooling me with the clear water.
As I relax, He lovingly hangs me up
And as He stands back I know
I’m His unique chisel.
Used to form and bring out the beauty
In my Maker’s Masterpiece.

(I did this for an assignment, sorry its kind of lengthy. And no, its not up for a complete analysis of any moral means; I did it quik   )

GG,

Ouch. I could feel it. And, that is how it feels sometimes, huh?

Very good job. Well written.

Warm regards, Pat
