I have been thinking about you recently,
lately you have crossed my mind
every time I see a particular little tree
which I have watched over the years,
it grows bigger and stronger as time goes by
even though the sentiment has faded, for most.

In early Spring I saw the buds pop
above the lush green grass,
the tree came to life.

Throughout the Summer the large leaves
caught every ray and breeze
I'm sure the roots stretched
for every drop of water,
the tree lived.

Fall came and the tree came into its full glory
orange, red, yellow, brown
when it caught the light
OH! what a sight.

Then the tree lost its leaves
left a pile of questions and answers
which the wind took away as time went on.

The tree has taught me many lessons,
lessons for life and spirit,
consistency, reliability, security
and Gods faith runs
through the center of all of it.

So I know the tree is not dead,
and now that same faith grows in me.

I am a tree!

Could the moderator please delete the other version of The Tree from the topics list, after helpful insight I realized it was too late for me to edit it, so decided to try and redo it. This seems better?

First, I am excited to see so many new and talented poets joining this site and expressing their talents here and my friend you are for certain no exception.... Please make yourself at home here and know that you are most definitelyWelcome.  Your poem is very inspirational.  Nature is by far I believe to be God's most read and most easily understood book. Amen. I know that God refers to us as trees in His Word, but it is Wonderful to read that you have come to the conclusion that you are "a tree" first hand through your own personal observations of nature.  What you have written here is true....  and you have even grown a bit here, as the tree grows, at this site as evidenced by your greater understanding of posting your poems... and yes, there are times when we do need to dig our roots down deep and reach for the Light....  Anyway, this is a wonderful poem and analogy of The Tree to humankind.  Also, thank you for your kind response to my poem titled God's Lullaby. God bless.

-Bob

Welcome to the Forum and this certainly was a nice introduction of your work.  I loved the tree being your comparative subject, great job.  As requested, your first posting was deleted, and you have 24 hours in which to revise your poem.  This looks great!

To me, your poem meant not only trees growing, but maybe a little bit of ourselves growing along with the tree every year.Becoming taller and stronger.Good poem earthman.hope to read some more soon!!

If we can be like a tree, we can look forward to a long life of beauty.  Joyce
