When I went to South America in my twenties it changed everything I thought I knew about life. The Indians I visited were much happier than me, though they had nothing. Ah' but that's where I was wrong...To compensate for what we would consider a very hard life they had developed the most loving and caring relationships with their family and friends I have to this day ever seen. I left jealous of them and happy for them.

                Andes Mountains Sing
                With the Voices all Around
                Day or Night they Sing

Quito
Walking streets of Quito
The equator looks for rest
Finds a park in the center
Of town to cool a bit
San Blas
Whats your name
Where are you from
What are you doing here
Did you come to find love
Or just to stand above
On the Andes snowpeaks
Where your heart seeks

I enjoyed your message and the poems. We can learn so much from other cultures if we but try.

Sometimes I think our riches are our downfall.  We miss so much life in the chasing and maintaining of them.

Neat observation - thanks for sharing
