The Measure of His Love

For God so loved the world that He would give
His only Son, that we would ever live
Redemption is the way of Jesus Christ
And faith the way to everlasting life

For God so loved the world, so loved the world
That when the plight of Jesus was unfurled
He asked forgiveness for a faithless man
Despite the driven nail that pierced His hand

For God so loves the ones who honor you
That He bestows to them the honor due
And shines his radiance upon their face
And fills their hearts with richness of His grace

For God so loves the righteous in His realm
That he would let them man the wayward helm
Andfight the gale-like winds that sweep the day
Yet it is He who guides the rudder’s way

For God so loves the ones who love the poor
That He would show them destitution’s door
He sees the souls whose charity is swift
And fills the giver’s hand with twice the gift

For God so loves the ones who kneel in prayer
With heads so humbly bowed in reverence there
That He would see them through the trials of life
So they may grow in spirit through their strife

For God so loved the world that he would send
His Holy Lamb, the greatest gift to men
And still the Christmas bell so clearly rings
For one of humble birth, the King of Kings

God’s Love is greater than the mind can know
More pure than is the whiteness of the snow
More vast than all the stars in heaven’s space
In equal measure only to His Grace
