In this game of love, you can get hurt.
Set a heart on fire only to be burnt.
Build a home on a mountaintop way up high,
only to see it fall to splinters wondering why.

Open a door for that one to walk into,
a window that leads to the center of you;
only to find out there's a back door too.
That leads out to an ocean of lonely despair,
that leaves you gasping and grabbing for air.

And when you finally reach the safety of the shore,
you board up and lock up that damned(not the cuss word ) back door.
You vow never to let someone back in,
because you can't take the pain and heartache again.

But in this game of love, there are second chances,
second beginnings, and second glances.
An opportunity to heal the scars that you bear,
and a chance to rinse clean the wounds that you wear.

To let a new love grow with the tender care,
our Father loves us with....that AMAZING grace,
that banishes our fears away without a trace.

So don't give up on this game of love,
because one day soon will bring a hope from above.
That this will be written in the pages of time,
in something other than words because they can't describe
the beautiful beginning that you hold inside.

yea,
humans always hurt us.
Yet we've still gotta love 'em
Its good to have faithful love from God...
he's the only one who won't hurt us.
Even when we think He does.

Always, Alyssa
