Before you read this poem, I must tell you something first. I felt in my heart that in order for anyone to grasp this poem, they must know and realize the intensity of sin and what it does to the human heart and the human race,so it had to be described in harsh descriptive words. So as you read it, think about all that sin has done to this world and then think about what God gave up. All His glory, His throne, the angels constantly praising him in adoration. He came down to save us!! Thats amazing grace!!!
                   Amazing grace

I was torn, ravaged, and crippled by sin
Diving into a mass of utter destruction
Into the black arms of darkness
Where nothing is discernible
I called out with little hope of salvation
The thickness of night reached out
I was certain that any minute it would take hold
I was desperate, I could not escape
Helpless was I to stop the devastation it would bring
And just when I thought I would be devoured by it
I felt salvation lift me up and wrap my wrenched body in His arms.
His blood soaked me and cleansed me of sin.
My eyes lifted up and saw that great love had done this.
For my destiny should have been eternal death
For I am nothing but dust
I cried out when I thought there was no hope
But He heard and looked at me and saw
His compassion was so great
He came down willingly and took the plunge
His grace was sufficient, His love great.
I was bought and the price, great.
Yet the ransom was paid.
His only son to die.
I know Him as my Lord and Savior, my Jesus.
I was saved from darkness by his hand
That now bears the nail scars forever
May I now bear witness to the world
That I was saved by amazing grace.

If any praise were to be given, let it ALL go to my heavenly Father whom I love and adore.
I know I don't write conventionally or within certain standards or anything, but I do write what comes from my heart.
Thank you both for not being harsh, even if it might look bad to you.
Its what God thinks of it that I value the most.

Just watch adn episode of "South Park" and
you'll see the first lines of your poem
in a cartoon! When the children are the target...

I've NEVER watched South Park. And I don't like it. They say GD.
