Each mortal soul, of any age,
Is tempered by fates hand.
Setting its special destiny,
With each gilded band.

Hence longing thoughts of wistful sleep,
Starts slipping through our grasp,
Placing God's smallest monuments,
Over our simplest tasks.

Days raging with each solemn breath,
We're losing time, yet again,
Knowing he watches continuously
As we discard him.

Night claiming not, this soldiers life,
I'm fighting for his eyes.
Caring to maintain commandments,
With my lasting life.

Sticking to our guns as a soldier in God's army can be tough.  Good job.  Joyce

I love any poem about fighting for Christ.
And this one I like for so many more reasons

I liked the little eyeballs. (smiles)
Nice touch. For me, your poem expressed a
need that I have to be more and more like Jesus
in the way that I live my life by putting
God first and even in the way that I view
things and the way others and God
views me.(Thats Why I think the
eyeballs are a nice addition)

Again, very nice poetry here and a kind of personal challenge for most of us I think. God Bless.

(sigh) Yes, we must be in His selective ervice and serve Him full-time, not for Bush or for any leader of a nation but look to Him who created us all and our world we tread upon! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is powerful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

What a wonderful vow to our Lord.. to serve him with everything, forever.. I made a similar vow, and I hope that many more will do the same. Thanks for sharing, I loved how you put this

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee
