Reflections of Richard

I ran off all acquaintances
--The pain too hard to bare--
The longing nights and loneliness
Only added to despair.
There's not too many people
Who'd stay there in that room;
But I guess you knew--
Cuz you felt it too,
When you lived on through that gloom.

When I'm down in that valley,
I'll be climbing up your hill,
Cuz I know when I reach Heaven
You'll be waiting for me still.
You are my friend.

We compared our operations,
--The times we almost died--
The jokes the doctors played on us,
Made us laugh until we cried.
There's not too many people
Who knows what we've gone through;
And I still don't know--
What it is to die,
But one day I'll be there too.

When I'm down in that valley,
I'll be climbing up your hill,
Cuz I know when I reach Heaven
You'll be waiting for me still.
You are my friend.

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

agree with Joyce, nice tribute to your friend... it is sad... hope the feeling don't cloud your head for long. Smile, Bob.

Maybe I am not praying...but I know...
You are always listening...to my soul...

What a wonderful prayer to your friend Bob, and I know how you feel by the last stanza as I can hardly wait to see my best friend once more as I miss her terribly.  This was absolutely heartwarming.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful friendship. It is hard to part with someone who has been through so much with you... but he has finished his course and kept his faith. May you have a wonderful reunion with your friend someday in the presense of Lord Jesus. Thanks for sharing this, it will go in my library.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.--Jesus Christ
