Raised alone in a black widow’s web
I learned my way into the devil’s bed
Sin is drug for which I am addicted
Death is my sentence, I stand convicted

In the blood of the Lamb, I long to be cleansed
Forgiveness I seek, yet I reject it
Imprisoned by my pleasures
Damned by my blindness

Feeling rejected by the Lord above
I have excluded myself from eternal love
By purchasing heaven on earth
Tears of blood fall from my eyes
To see Him on that cross to dying for me

His last breath of human life
Pierced my heart with the Word of Light
The pain I felt upon that mount
Could not compare to His when He looked at me

I fell to my knees, I touched the earth
I asked Him to punish me in His stead
His death came undeserved
From the bowels of my own prison
Let me die today so He may live on…

My life for yours, I heard Him say
Your debt has been paid this very day
Rise and walk o daughter of mine
Seek the light and you will shine

In His blood I have been washed!
In His Word I have been found!
In His Love I have been saved!
In His death I found my life!
Halleluia

There's no rhyme or reason to this, but it is how my salvation came to be those so few years ago.

What a wonderful poem describing how we are like worms in the dust of the earth.  And when we look at Him on the cross we plead for Him to come down and for us to take His place.  Yet your verse:
My life for yours, I heard Him say
Your debt has been paid this very day
Rise and walk o daughter of mine
Seek the light and you will shine

says it all.  He gave His life to save ours, he paid our debt in full and wants us to shine in this world of darkness.  He is awesome and He will never go away.  He is eternity and He is love.  What a wonderful poem.  So glad you have joined us here at Passions.

This is a beautiful testimony.  Indeed, He died that you should live and understand how precious you are in His sight and that He is love beyond what we can grasp.  Thanks you for sharing this.
