looking back
on all the times
I could have let go
when faith was just too hard
and hate overwhelmed love
tears fell
and scars where burned in
that girl was so broken
she was so lost
so afraid
more then merely sad
she was empty
how could You have saved her?
why did You even try?

looking back
on all that I did to shame You
who was I to You
a child
broken and in need
did I thank You today?
thanking You evey moment
of every day
for the rest of time
would never
could never be enough
easy to say I was lost without You
but unspoken
I would have died with out You

now its been ten years
and what have You given me?
eveything
the strength to finally let go
of a father
joy in the love of a soul mate
hope in the eyes of my child
now when the tears fall
they are in thanks
and wonder
that you took
such a broken girl
and turned her in to me

what will the next ten years bring?

I agree, a very stong feeling of love. It is hard to imagine where you would be without your soul mate. But I must ask, couldn't you have been happy elsewhere?

This poem was so beautiful that I was almost brought to tears.  Isn't it wonderful how life can turn out.  Praise God.  The title says it all.

Awww star  ... you are truly blessed! There are many saviors in the world who rescue people with love ... If people want to be true christians, they need to concentrate more on loving their brothers and sisters and healing others with love ... BE more Christlike! Worshipping "God" is an empty, meaningless activity, unless we can worship him in one another by loving and caring about our fellow man more. Love indeed changes lives. Thank you so much for sharing

Beautiful, beautiful poem.  God is wonderful in that He sees only the finished project, not the one in progress.  It is His deepest desire to take that which is broken and mold it back together in one whole piece.  A wonderful poem so well expressed with great emotion.  I enjoyed it greatly.

Bless you,
