We spend our lives from solstice to solstice,
In silence we grieve as we walk in darkness
A sense of direction fails to guide us
In endless circles we lose our way.

Our burdens become too heavy to lift.
Despair prevents our souls from healing
the hurts we bear, the cross we carry,
all through the solitude of night.

And we forget, oh Lord forgive us,
Your hand is always there to lead us,
to light our paths, to vanquish our foes,
We need not walk in fear of the dark.

How very true your words are!  I've had my days of walking in the darkness(without our Lord).  Now, even the devestating deaths of our 2 youngest children, handled in faith, is managable.  The knowledge and hope that they're with Jesus eternally, is so comforting.

Thank you for sharing this reminder.
