I used to live in darkness
I didn’t know of this thing called light
Until I opened up my door
Bringing in bright sun rays
To shatter that, the eternal night

Many live their lives, day after day
Hiding under whatever keeps them safe
Not knowing what could be in store
Until you leave it all to faith
Take a breath and look
On the other side of the door

The shadows jump from the closet
But there’s no cause for fear
For if there’s a shadow
A light’s there, it’s near
But just something
Is blocking the beam
Something, perhaps even you
Has gotten in between

Stand in the doorway, stand strong
Live like things will be alright
Stop looking at those shadows
And start looking at this light

This very well written piece packs a punch.  How true, those who don't know, have no idea they may be blocking the very peace in life they're stiving to find.  Thanks for sharing.
