Can you see the crystal walls?
Which align the empty halls?
Brilliance, majestic, glorify,
No heed taken, live a lie.

Surrender to the glowing charm
Walk the hall without alarm.
Don’t realize what your giving up
As you grab for the crystal cup.

Its broken though, hear it drip
You grab for pieces, trying to sip.
Nothing comes, and you’re alone
But the crystal walls make your home.

You’re too alone and too afraid,
Can’t break out, but soon you’ll fade.
You now know about the walls and cup;
They’re rhinestone. Its time to listen up.

What is life that isn’t fake?
Could you just be one big mistake?
But no, you know the Truth is there.
Grab your Bible; say a prayer.

The walls turn to a shining way,
And you turn into molding clay.
For with faith you can see
The light of God’s eternity.

But when your path seems all alone
Remember you heart is now God’s home.

Lay it on the Throne.

Thank you both!

I think so many people see something that 'looks good' and they build their life around that.
But not as many build their life on the Solid Rock, and walk the straight and narrow path.

Take care
and may the Season,
of the celebration of Jesus' birth,
be a joyful and reminding time

Always, GG

The imagery here is fabulous and at times most haunting when I think about times in my own life when I have felt alone and watched the world and life go on beyond the peripheral of those most illusive crystal walls...  I too am very happy and even maybe a bit ecstatic over the Truth that has set us all free and placed our feet upon a secure and most stable foundation that we can be most assured in our minds, hearts, and souls that we are never truly alone when Christ is with us. Amen. A very true to life and well written poem and may God bless you and yours this Christmas season.

With God in the center, we need not worry about the edges.  Lovely poem.  Joyce

Thank you for your replies..

Yes isn't it wonderful and exciting to know that we have the Truth!! That he gives us the discernment to know what is truth and what is just the sparkling lies.

God's blessings to you also as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus

Always, Alyssa
