I long
for the hands that bore my shame - our shame
To hold my own and reveal to me Himself

More than a hundred miles away
  my heart, my mind
beyond the borders of Lebanon
to the sands and pain of Israel
to the land that bore our Savior

God, You walked through dusty sands
and sloshed in salted sea
tasting the fish formed by Your very hand
Gently, You touched men and women
and shed Your tears for their sorrows

I never touched Your garment
or seen the color of its threads
Your calloused feet never stood before me

I've never looked into the intensity of Your eyes

and yet I know You've seen in mine

My heart pounds loudly
longing to see Your face
and touch Your sleeve soft
