The Name of Jesus

Why is the name of Jesus so inviting to the ear?
These letters on a Bible’s page that beckon and endear
The lips to utter them aloud in quiet solitude
And scroll this word within our hearts, indelibly imbued

Why is the name of Jesus such a tranquilizing sound?
It soothes the ear like melodies that cradle our surround
It is the rock on which we cling, in this tumultuous world
And spells the name of beauty as each letter is unfurled

Bit by bit and piece by piece, each letter fills the eye
With  meanings that no other word could ever dignify
“J” is for the comfort and the sureness of His trust
For though we falter in our step, we know that He is JUST

“E” is for the everlasting blood upon His face
Eternal Life, eternal Love, and His eternal Grace
“S” is for the sacrifice He suffered on a cross
So that the spirit’s heritage would not be certain loss

“U” is undeniable, undisputed, undisguised
For purity and truth are words that Jesus signifies
“S” is for the Savior , the Redeemer, Holy Lamb
The offspring of a Father, and the Fatherhood of man

Why is the name of Jesus so inviting to the ear
These letters on a Bible’s page that beckon and endear
The lips to utter them aloud in quiet solitude
And scroll His name within our hearts, indelibly imbued

Hiya Liz

enjoyed the entire poem but the last paragraph did it for me...

Beautiful...thank you
