somebody's dungeon

I spent some time in Wisconsin
when I lost my mind, and went
up there searching for it.

Up there in the freezing cold
in a place with no hot water, no
curtains, no frills. Just
a roof overhead, to keep out
the chills.

And it was there in the midst
of insanity's escape, that I saw
majestic, upon the frozen landscape,
an eagle, quite bald, by the side
of the road.

You know they're not bald
they've feathers up there.

Here sat this bird
in the middle of nowhere
not really just sitting,
he was busy indeed,
on carcass of deer
did this royalty feed.

Still the picture,
of eagle alight
so close to a place,
within my eyesight
was spendid in spite
of the death underneath.

A magnificant creature, partly because of his power...well done.  Brought to mind the fact, that death is always there, under life.

Anne, I love the way you brought the majestic creature...the bald eagle...out of a seemingly(??) sad situation of you "losing your mind" and your "searching for it". I hope you are satisfied that you found it? Thanks for sharing this poetry with us.

(sigh) Oh Anne, I love this, sweet friend, I love how you describe your wistfulness and contrast it with the eagle almost like chiarascuro! (kiss on cheek) Know the hope and freedom can outshine any opposing force, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
