Preface

I crawled onto the ledge
I heard them all screaming "no"
But my own thoughts
Drove them out

yeah I could do it
yeah I would do it
I would jump
And surely die
I looked down
It seemed so high
Yeah I had friends and family
Yeah they'd mourn my death
But I can't do this pain
Fire and Brimstone
Just behind me
My tears can't put out the flames
The sky is dark
And it reaks
Of multon rock
and burning flesh
yeah I could do it
yeah I had to do it
There was no other choice
The firemen and police
Scurried like ants below me
They can't save me now
I leapt
I couldn't control the scream
I expelled
Yeah I did it
yeah I'm gone
Fallen from the sky
An angel from God
Landed, fallen from grace
At ground zero

Thank you.  I was sitting down and was stricken with the need of catharis from that day, it was this October...

A unique look inside a mind with a choice to make.  Well done.

Thank you.

Disagreements on a post are acceptable but when they enter the realm of personal insult they are not welcome in the Open Forum. The Alley would be a choice, e-mail to the author would be a choice, or ignoring the post is always an option.

Just means that someone was rude and needed to be "edited". Ignore those who send out personal attacks- they have no other way in which to act I suppose.

This was a bit heartwrenching, especially at the end with your notes. The country and world will continue to mourn. Thank you for writing for us all to read.

Why is it that we are at our most ingenius only when trying to destroy the things that keep us alive and thriving?

Attila, I'm blank about what was happening in the above replies, but I would like to say that I thought you did very well in your writing of your poem. Thanks so much for sharing your feelings with us.

Love To All,
Ethel

P. S. I just noticed that you haven't been here very long and I want to extend a  WELCOME to you, if I haven't already done so.

Hello Attila and WELCOME!! Nice Catharsis. I think a lot of us had to purge our feelings from that day and I cannot think of any better way than poetry. Pay no attention to any negative comments you may have received, as you can see the moderators always take care of such things. This is truly a wonderful group of caring, loving people and I'm sure we are all quite happy to welcome you to our ranks. BTW- I especially like your little notation at the end of this poem. Well said. See you around the posts!

Thank you all so much, I knew that this would either go over well or horrid, I am glad it was not the latter!
