How many times
I wanted
to pick up the phone
and say:
"Hello, I love you."
How many times
the ache
of wanting you
to want me, too,
made me feel
so heavy-hearted.
How many times
I went through days
trance-like,
denying my need for you,
wondering
if the day would
ever come
when you would need
me.
How many times,
I wanted
~you~ to pick up the phone
and say:
"Hello, I love you."

Kethry, thank you for the response.
That was awhile ago, but, when I re-read, I remember, too exactly how it was. Thanks you so much for the reply.

Warmly

Pat ~

Like you, when I post poems like these, it brings the painful past to the foreground, and I remember.

You sure can write a real raw write!

Pat, I've been there and she never picked up the phone.  I believe this is one many of us can relate to.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Linda, Yes, but it does not  hurt anymore, that is the amazing part. We are left with growth and wisdom and more tolerance for others, etc. etc...

Although to this day I cannot listen to sad songs, my favorite music is a soft instrumental jazz....but, no words, I'll cry  (big smile)

Thanks for responding....

Pat, this was a very good poem, but sad. I'm so glad that you aren't feeling this way anymore.
thanks for sharing your feelings.

You've described those feelings so well the pain of remembering slipped through... but then I gave it the boot, dusted my hands... and said "His loss!". *G* Very well done! *S*

regards, this was hard to read as the pain was screaming.  I'm sorry he didn't call. But I have to agree with suthern, 'his loss, moving on...'

Doesn't make it any easier though.  Marti

Regards

beautiful write...you "paint" your feelings
well, and i could relate to this very much.
im glad the sadness has passed somewhat for
you, and that you are stronger because of it.
as the saying goes, all things happen for a
reason. take care of yourself.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Patricia, I know this ache ever so well, sweet friend, it just eans so much to me to have someone I could depend on whenever I feel down and just to hear her voice brightens my day, then I feel "Shouldn't I be a whole lot farther?" and I feel I haven't gone anywhere! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, I think so many can relate to this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
