That Path Eventually Traveled
By Larry Chadwick

There is comfort in my knowing,
That others have walked this way before.
And cared enough to plan for me,
A pathway well defined and more.

Had I blazed this trail alone,
I would rather I had died.
But just to know they cared,
Gave me strength down deep inside.

And now this trail of grief I’ve found,
Has taught me so much more.
They’ve been my inspiration,
To act like those who’ve gone before.

Improve the way so dark ahead,
Let them know where you have been.
Help them also understand,
That sorrow will likely come again.

Lonely still the path before you,
But traveled well you’ll know.
Enhance the trail as you linger,
That grace you’ve known will show.

October 20, 2002

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Something tells me there is more
to this path than meets the eye...
well done, Larry, and congratulations
on your milestone, one that has been
quite weary lately, but still, you
left behind notes that we, too,
would have strength to find our way...

Larry,
it seems you have a way of leading us down the garden path and showing us treasures we otherwise would not have seen. Congratulations on the 5,000th, that's quite an achievement.

This is wonderful. Thank you so much for giving back to us, all you've learned, and, then some.

Thank You,

Hello, sweet Larry. This is such a beautiful poem, with all your wonderful traits showing through the words. Your compassion is really special, Larry. To me the fact that you have had  5000  posts  helps prove that you care about others feelings.....enough to encourage them with your compassion, love, and wisdom, like you do. Thanks for being you, dear friend, and for sharing your feelings of your heart.
Love To All,

Congratulations on your 5000th post, Larry

the path of living, winds and wends
we cannot see beyond each bend
the future is not ours to know
be it happiness or woe

this path traversed by all who live
through love and loss, through take and give
a lonely trail of love's despair
where cries of mourning, fill the air

but hope shines rays of light through tears
soothing senses, calming fears
filling future years with grace
a road to love, this special place

~ angel hugs to you, Larry

You will already know what those verses mean to me and that they touch me in places deep....I know the distance that must be traveled before arriving upon this path...and while I wish you didnt have to learn this lesson of the heart...I also know the peace that comes from realizing we never walk alone when we follow the traces left behind.
Youve penned a heart-light and a most appropriate poem to mark both a poetic and personal milestone.
heart-hugs to you Larry...thank you for all that you've taught and shared with us here.

Larry, congratulations on your 5000th post.  We can never precisely know the path, but we can leave small treasures of ourselves along it as we travel...just as you have done.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
