Longing VI

Endless void vacuum filled,
So far away even the stars have disappeared -
The light has not yet reached here,
So lonely, so cold, you miss not the sun till it is gone.

Primal, primordial, pre-historic, no even older,
Or earlier, is here, is now;
Do the blind live in this barren place?
With my eyes closed I see more light.

Memories of color conditioned will be lost,
Last of all my touch;
Sound will stay - that at least I can create.

Away now, look - a solitary twinkle,
How long ago it must have burned bright for now to reach me,
Come, watch with me the begining.

You know what I think

Just thought I'd say it again. It may be improper, but it's a lovely sonnet all the same.

"my reflection becomes me"
