Savor the Flavor

Yesterday’s cloudless sky
and gentle breeze
has blown by
bringing white fluff
and intermittent blotches
of sun patches to the lawns
about me

in the wake of nightfall’s passing
there remains a tepid feel
to the air
and even gentler breezes
caressing the grasses and fronds
of God’s estate

outside
on the patio
someone has stirred up a stew
of autumn leaves
in circles
as in a boiling pot
of thickened broth and sauce

dots of twigs,
like rosemary and oregano,
intermix the colors
adding spice to the season
and I
sit here and savor
the flavor
of this autumnal palette

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Virginia...you do free verse
very well...
I hope to see more of your writing
along this vein...
smiling here...

now, off to see Othello!

(sigh) This is just beautiful, sweet friend, that's some whole-home goodness! (giggles) I love the aromas and colors you conjure with your words, sweet friend, this is pure autumn harvest, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thanks, all!!!
And Noah, maybe I should change the title to Autumn Harvest, or a derivative...great phrase!
