She dreams of wild horses
Running freely in the sky

Troubles left behind them
They keep running till' they die

their manes pick up the wind
And their feet pick up the dust

Their eyes just keep on shineing
And their bones will never rust

And the child, she runs beside them
Her face wide with a smile

Untill she gets her independence
Which won't be for a while

Wind

I need to take this poem and memorize it---so that it can replace that nightmare of horses that keep haunting me--

I thank you so much for this...I was due for a replacement...smile?

It's been a while since I've been here, but this was a nice read to get me back into the swing of piptalk.  Welcome to Passions!

I read your poem. I'm sorry that horses scare you like that. I'm not much of a horse person myself, to be honest

Your dream horses are far more appealing than night mares!

I love the lightness and freedom I experienced while reading this poem.

Lovely

like this, Wind! It has such energy and effervescence!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

This is a dream of a poem!!! I love the imagery of the horses...reminds me of the Native American dreamings. ***Ivy Rose
