The morning stillness
erupts with the blast of bombs
Pearl Harbor is burning

i can barely imagine (considering recent national events) what this tragedy must have felt like. i lived in hawaii for a time and saw the ships that still lie at the bottom of the harbor. it is an awe-inspiring sight, as well as a somber remembrance of a day i never saw, but have felt regardless.

thanks for that association. burning - but never burnt.

I agree with Chris. We can read about it, see the pictures, even the remnants but it is still not within us to accurately imagine what those people went through who experienced it, no more than Nam vets can accurately depict how it really was.

Hopefully we will never know......

Too many days of infamy in history.
When will we ever learn?
Sing it out, Paladin.
