Picture of Costa Rica sand, ©Michel v.d. Burgh

Not all the sand you brought, he could use
for the purpose he has in mind
But some were real nice sands he said
He thanks you for being so kind

I wondered, because all that sand
Looks just the same to me
For him each grain is different
It's how you look on it you see

He washes the sand and dries it well
Spread it out on a microscope sheet
And then you see to your asthonishment
The sand looks different indeed

Like sparkling stones of higher value
They display their secret charm
The sands of each location varies
in colors, some look cold, others warm

They make these beautiful pictures of sand under the microscope and because sand is different in each part of the world, you get all different colors and shapes. So it actually should have been ordinary sand that I should have brought home, I didn't know. Oh well, next time I gather some more.
He said there were some nice specimen in the stuff I gave him.

Titia, Titia, did you see?
One resembles a pearl!
I'm so glad for the sand you took
from 'round this side of the world...

I'm also glad for the gifts you bring
each and every sunny day...
I promise that the next time you come,
I'll manage a trip your way!

So there is always more there than the first glance. I love this, and I have learned something today. Beautiful.

Wow Titia! This is amazing! I hope the next time you come to this side of the world, I can be there to see you, too. The only thing is, I don't fly.

Okay talk about sand!  I live right on the ocean, so ask if he wants that and I will send some and little rocks too if he wants, so email me.  LOL, never realized the stuff I try to get off my shoes was that important before.  You tell him I live on Burrard Inlet in Vancouver and ask what he wants - I will send it. Titia, are you sure he doesn't mean stones?
