Have you ever woken
because you screamed?
Because something hideous
was in your dream....
Chasing you!

Screaming a deep guttural sound,
a sound only heard when fear,
true fear compels you

TO SCREAM!!!!!!!

You strike out with closed fists...
finding only air...

You wake, breathing hard...
Your scream awoke you...
It always does...

What was this abomination
that came out of the dark and lunged?
Only to recede into the darkness
still hungry for your soul.

You lie there, breathing heavily...thinking...
Do I dare go back to sleep?
Will it be waiting beyond the light,
drooling,   red coal eyes glaring?

Go ahead....after all....
Fifty-fifty is not bad odds...
in real life...

Or is it?

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Barry, this one deeply touched my heart, sweet friend, to me 50/50 are terrible odds because when I was a boy I had terrible nightmares almost every night and epilectic seizures and I tried staying up all night every night because I feared I would be dead in my sleep and couldn't wake up! (sad sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

Barry, another scary one!! I hope I don't have nightmares from reading your spooky stories. HaHa!! I don't think I've ever woke myself up from screaming, but I have from snoring! HeeHee!!
