It has been so long
Since I saw you last.

It was summer's eve,
We had a blast.

The rythem of the river
The wind's sweet song.

I missed you so,
It's been to long.

I remember you,
once a child.

So full of life,
so young, so wild.

I thought of you in every way,
My dreams of you,
Would make my day.

But I see that you are in a rush,
And if you must leave then leave fast

Because I need you
And wish this day would last.

It is never to soon to see you again,
I'll miss you when you leave,
my friend

very beautiful poem. i took the poem in two ways; the first is that of a mother, whose child has grown up and is ready to leave home. the other is that of a childhood friend who is also moving on. a sad but very sweet poem. thanks for sharing

Liz, I think this is the best poem I've read of yours.
I could feel that it was coming from your heart. Even
if you were writing about someone besides yourself,
it still came from inside of you. You write very good poetry.
