Rustled Minutes

The moonset
old cotton
colored to yellow
starched and pressed
a slight pattern of age mottled into its circle

slips into the western hills
as the old oak tree rustles minutes
catching the dawn as she takes over the sky
on the other side of morning

I watch it gather the shadows
and turn his dusky face to pale

and think

capture the space between

I expected to see perfection when I saw the title

as the old oak tree rustles minutes
catching the dawn as she takes over the sky
on the other side of morning

Again, I was right.
Always a pleasure to read you Martie.

Very nice, Martie. Reflective - filled with nature. I love how you never let a day go by without appreciating nature.

You should have been a painter....not the
house variety either...though I am  quite
sure you could have painted a home as well.

Beautifully done Martie girl....

Hi Marti,

Liked the description of the moon.

and also especially liked:

"The space between"...

So creative, you are. Enjoyed much and re-reading each time, more pleasurable.

Sometimes the space between is all there is....or the space before, as here. This poem is beautiful, and true to the real of things.
