I have played in the darkness of shadow before away from the light, behind the closed door. Alone, and consumed with the deep of the black, I was slipping away with no way to come back. I found there was comfort in the absence of light, my depression kept hidden and out of the bright. No pain did I feel while I was cushioned within, I couldn't see the prison that I was trapped in. The shadow, my friend, the cloak from the real engrossed in the darkness, no longer to feel. I rode the dark waves of the deepest despair captured, yet longing for escape to somewhere. In a fit of rebellion against the dark rage, one day I decided to break free of the cage. I let my heart shine, just blast from my chest a light, ablaze, with the strength to attest. That playing forever in the dark of shadow leaves the spirit bereft, void and hollow. WhiteRose 11/20/02 "my reflection becomes me" |
