We, the people, of the fifty states,
in order to spy on our broken union,
build up injustice,
ensure domestic conformity,
strengthen unreasoned defense,
promote the general warfare,
and secure the gates of security
for ourselves and our old secrecies
do abstain and inter these ten amendments
for our piece of North America.

Well squirrel dude,
Wait'll they get around to implanting "IDs" under the good citizens' skin. (proposed, btw).

Like that very popular "Lojack" technology, so you can, you know, locate yourself.

Anyway, A friend and I once tried to count up all of my own "Red flags" (loner, criminal record, membership in the S.D.S, A very Unibomber-like shack, etc, etc, etc.)and decided that I was well and truly fudged.

Nice thoughts...er, good thoughts...uh, you know.

Orwell wasn't merely being sarcastic. Warnings of 9/11 for two years prior prompted the longest vacation in Presidential history (4 weeks). 30 Billion dollars a year for our spys and for what?
FDR's speech "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" now morphed into frightening us. Question the connection to illegal gains from Harken on June 3 and on June 5 we are told of 250,000 troops to Iraq. Anyone who questions is a coward (Congress, UN) or unpatriotic.
If everyone would just go to a good search engine such as Google.com and type in just 3 different things
1. Prescott Bush/ Nazis
2. George Bush/ Kennedy assasination
3. Bush/ Carlyle
At what point did we become sheep?

I say to be a true patriot, you vote. Otherwise, get out of my face with your American flag bumper stickers and t-shirts. Thanks to the low, low voter turnout, the Republicans now control both the House and the Senate. So basically, whatever Bush wants, Bush gets.

Incidentally, I sent my poem to the L.A. Times editorial pages, and they called back to say they're going to publish it.

It's been published. Today's L.A. Times. How cool is that?
