To Acknowledge Fall

The earth turned quicker then what I expected it
But, sundown just didn't feel the same
How hard it is looking out through all this fall
As I just daze through all this rain...

I can't acknowledge fall in it's scattered remains
Cause, the leaves bring something in a lonely change
And, they blow like I don't even exist
But, what do I do with all of this...

When summer died right before my eyes
I vowed to hold on to what's kept inside
Oh, the flowers you handed sweetly to me
Now are among the winds and can't be seen...

I can't acknowledge fall on it's release to the grounds
Because in it means we lie nowhere around
I need a new memory to share here with you
And, let the winds gather what's left here on through...

I just can't acknowledge fall when it takes all mine
I only have what I can relive once upon a time
Though the colors are brilliant in their escape to the land
I can't dismiss summer and being hand and hand...

Forgive me if fall weighs hard on the soul
But, I'm here saving summer to avoid the cold
I can treasure us and the warmth brought along by the sun
I just can't acknowledge fall and what it's done...

Poingnant and moving. It suggests a sadness unknown by the reader but felt none the less.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Saunni, you are never alone, I too can't help but feel grief every autumn annually too because when I was a little boy I always had my worst times of depression in September when I was abused and had seizures and nightmares and the trees withering reminded me of dying. (sad sigh) My heart goes out to you and know I am always here for you if you need someone to talk to, God Bless You, I send angel hugs your way, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Saunni~I agree with Richard here...
this piece hints at something...I can't put my finger on.....something sad..something I  felt deeply.
Well done!

I have trouble with fall too, a memory that wood smoke brings out...the air just crisp with reminders, and the long cold nights...I know and I feel it too.

Gut-wrenching, but, like the others don't know the why.

Beautifully written.

May you soon know peace.

A warm hug.

Saundra, this was very good work. I also felt a sadness coming forth, like the others. And also, like the others, I don't know why. I just hope that you can find some joy to help take the sadness from your heart. Thanks for sharing.

Remembrances of Falls Past, and of risings present.

Thank you.
