~The Leaves... a condensed biography~

Winter's desolate beauty
branches stark with life not yet begun
bold silhouettes against bleak skies
as snowclouds shroud the sun

tender newborn greens of spring
virgin buds in pristine birth
symbolizeing life anew
arise through fertile earth

summer sprouts burst into lush
warmth ripening to their prime
arboreal green umbrellas
respite from fiery hot sunshine

their lives, like the seasons...ebb and flow
at the peak of autumnal glory
the breathtaking beauty of the leaves
marks the end of their life story
~

Thanks so much, Wind...
I was just thinking about how the leaves were at the end of their life cycle for this year... and it seemed an appropriate time to re-post this one

Very apropos...and timely!  We are still in fall, but the last vestiages, alas!  Soon we shall all see Spring again..and we shall write of birth, and hope...and things to come!

Thanks so much, Karilea...
I think its interesting the way the leaves change with the seasons...
Here in Michigan, they are all off the trees now, except for the Pin Oaks which stay on all winter and fall off in March, right before the new ones start greening...
I think each season has it's own unique beauty

Lyra, what an intriguing title--and as it turned out--very appropriate! I really enjoyed this biography!

Lyra~ I really enjoyed this.
It's like the trees put on a big show for us each Fall before Winter takes it away and Spring brings it all back to life for us to enjoy each year...Paul

(smiles) Oh Lyra, this is sooooooo gorgeous, sweet friend, and it really isn't the end of their life when it is the end but just the start of a new beginning to follow! (big huggsssssss) I love this, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Thanks so much, Linda...
Leaves really do have biographies, don't they?
What I find most fascinating is that they are at their most beautiful when they are dying.

Thanks so much, Paul... I guess that is the job of trees...
Ever since I have been old enough and lucky enough to own a house, I have lived in the woods....  as you can probably tell...
I love trees

Thanks so much, Noah...  It isn't the end of the tree's life... just the individual leaf's
But each year we get brand new ones, and as Paul said... they put on a final show for us before they are gone

Ahh, I'd like to see the autumn colours again...but all is covered in white here now. Thanks for the reminder of how it looked last week. I'll have to keep the memory of it, til the leaves come again in spring.
