She wouldn't even touch the cards
until she spoke her peace--
no silver had yet touched her palm--
she needed no gratuity.

She had to know before she dealt
he understood need of fulfill.
"Know this," spoke through candlelight.
"You were born with gift of will.

Not mine to give, nor take away,
and know these cards have gravity.
It only matters how they're played--
the future is but yours to see...

Just the fact that you are here
is proof you own your destiny.
Little is there set in stone
so understand before I read."

He nodded as she watched the fun
fade within his eyes.
Wondering what would be next--
already he had compromised.

"Some won't let you touch the cards.
But I insist now that you do.
Shuffle them until you know--
that confusion lights the view.

Keep a prayer in your heart
when you choose to question gods.
But know they know just what they do--
and when we cry, I say they sob.

Pray the elementals leave--
that no imp of devil make--
find the light within your head--
pray--at last--for your own sake."

She lit the candles
and incense--
damning mystery
intense.

She saw the fear and gave him stone.
"Take this. Know, you're not alone."

"Within this rock a church was built.
Know you are not made of silt.
Sand would just be washed away
with castles built from yesterdays."

No one has ever shown me how to see the world the way I see it now ...
and I never saw blue like that before.

Had to read this twice--awesome!

Stare into this deepening blue,
while the breeze says a secret." Jelaluddin Rumi

What an enchantingly beautiful deck you've dealt us, oh serene one.
Another keeper for my treasure box.
