For the flag that we fly
of the red, white, and blue
Our Veterans fought willingly
for me and for you
They've fought many wars
at sea and on land
For all of our country,
our Veterans took a stand
We tend to forget
the sacrifices they've made
Though many came home
still some had to stay
They were Prisoners Of War,
some were killed or injured
Many the hardships
those have endured
So friends I humbly ask,
as to God thanks we give
For our health and our freedom
in this land where we live
Let's all bring a smile to
the Veterans we meet
And say a simple "Thank  You" to
them, as their faces we greet

HAPPY  VETERANS  DAY
AND
THANK  YOU

I know you have a sweet red heart but, now I see some of the golden greatness you put in our most important parts. Happy Veterans Day.

Being the third generation of my family to serve in the military I was lifted by this poem. In my own way I thanked the veterans by joining the military myself. Thanks for the read.

I hope you don't mind, but I copied and sent this out to my Father who is a Vietnam Vet. and my Grandfather who is a WW2 Vet. I know that it means alot to them when Americans like you take the time to remember and appreciate all they have done for us. I too send out special thanks to ALL Veterans on this day (although not quite as eloquently as you). And a very special prayer to all the current military (my brother-in-law included) who are meeting the current threats to our great nation and keeping us all safe. God Bless and Keep You All
Amen.

Thank you, Tammy.
I didn't get to see my Dad today, but I'm going to spend the day with my parents on Wednesday, so I'm taking a copy of this poem, along with everyone's replies, so that he can see how thankful people really are.
It's a very big compliment to me for you to want to give a copy to your Father and Grandfather. I hope that it will make them feel good.
I also appreciate all the men and women who are serving in the military now and are defending our country. I have many friends and relatives in the military.
I truly pray God's blessings and protection over all of our military.
Thank you, Tammy.

Ethel...I appreciate what you have written,
and I know my father would appreciate it
as well.  I told him thank you from those of
us who were not in that one great war...

And I say you are most welcome...from those
of us who served our country in later years.

Thank You Ethel

Thank you, Barry, for your reply. Thanks also for serving in our military.
I took my Dad a copy of this poem, as well as some other Veterans Day poems, and he loved them all.
Again, thank you.
