I fear my poetic license,
...has finally been revoked,
I cannot state the sorrows,
...this taking has evoked.
The poetic police came calling,
...unannounced in dead of night;
Seized my poetic license #4827936,
...and said, "Tim, don't you write!"
It seems I'd penned a poem,
...about a common thief,
How could I have imagined,
...it would have caused such grief?
I wrote of how this robber,
...had his blood get spilt,
When he held up the Piggly-Wiggly,
...and by the cops got kilt.
A Royal Order of Scottish Bagpiper,
...really acted hurt,
It seems he thought that I had mocked,
...his silly, girly skirt.
A complaint was filed and I was toast,
...so here alone I sit,
They seized my poetic license,
...just 'cause of what I writ.

My understanding is that for a small fee - paid directly to the poetry police, they'll renew your license for another year.  Of course you'll be on poetic probation... Any infraction will be grounds for dragging you into a poetic hearing.. um.. reading... yeah - that's it..

I DO happen to know where you can get protection if you feel you need it...

Oh sheesh, one needs a license?

Haul me off to jail
sentence me to years
I am poetically guilty
and have been for many years!

Tim

Let me know where they got you jailed, and I'll bring you a cake with pen and paper inside.

You are the he he (that's laughter)
in me this morning...thanks.

Tim, this poem was a delight to read. I'll tell you what, if the requirements for a "poetic liscense" are very high, I know that I certainly wouldn't get one in the first place.....and I'm not kidding, either. I feel like a little ant here amongst all of you great giants of poetry on these pages of blue.

(giggles in delight) Awwwwwww, don't feel ashamed, who needs a silly license and registration please jargon when the real license comes through our own authority? (smiles) This is wonderfully playful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Don't worry - They can't keep Tim in poetry jail for long.  He knows the judge - He can get a low rhyming bail - and besides I hear tell the judge writes a lot of rosey poetry himself...
