wound up weeping kept her
from reaching sleep
but she was too tired to cry
so she stood under the water’s
spray until it turned cold and
embellished until you would
almost think her pretty except
for the leaking from her eyes

keys in hand she set off
and let exhaustion take her
softly she sobbed her way to
the place where she is paid
not to be...

Yup... can't go dragging 'round that place or they'll be nagging... and one more echo bouncing around in your head's just what you don't need. *S*

Just check all your problems at the door
You've sold your soul, can't worry more
Until the clock gives you reprieve
From one hell to another when time to leave.

I like this very much, lady... even if I don't like the merry-go-round. *S*

Jellybeans, I like the way you wrote the poem, but I don't like to have the feeling you were writing about.

Goodness...

It has been such a long dry spell for me.

This wets my whistle and takes my breath away.

Thank you jellybeans.

You have given the reader
the emotions felt...and many
have been there, I am sure.

Enjoyed this poem. Thank you for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
