The Servant Eavesdrops

My friend, well come!
It has been awhile,
please, come, sit,
visit with me,

may I serve you some
sweetbreads, some wine?

Oh, you are so very kind
to ask
of him.

Ah...he is well.
With the exception of his sore heart.

His travels take him far, and I miss
his love.

Oh, yes,
you are most correct.

He is all that, kind, and thoughtful,
he does not push for what he knows
he cannot have,
not just yet...

but there are days, like today...
when his spirit wells over me,
as I remember his touch,
how much I feel
as if I am incomplete...
without him,
like now, just telling you this,
when my tears start

those salt-tinged bearers of sorrow,
though I am not really sad....
it's just
one of those days...

on days such as these,
when he knows how I feel,
his spirit spends just a little more time
touching,
lingering, and he senses my wants...
nay, desires,

and does not push...
for there is no place for him
to go, he has to wait, as I
for the tides to turn,
to return him to his proper place,

it is just
one of those days...
and yes,
even when my eyes well,
the smile...

oh, the smile...

is all because
of him...

and I thank you, for asking.

Ah dear Lady..so nice to see you once again..
and this..
this is..so full of longing..
so full of love yet to be fulfilled..
May you not have to wait
so very long...to be with your true love.
And yes...do smile, when you think of him.
Wonderful write...please stay awhile.
~Hugs to you dearheart~

Lady...Lady...Lady....
where have you been? .....
*remind me to send Elan a thank you note*
lovely Lady...elegant are your words.

and I never saw blue like that before.

Such lovely words.. Great job!

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

This made me picture a classic 1940's b/w kind of film in my mind -- it has that universal emotion embedded in it while still feeling intensely personal...  A strong scene here, my Lady...
