Too long gone...

She heard the wind
a’howling down
the stranger had
come back to town

    she checked the mirror
to find her smile
it hadn’t visited
    in quite a while

but the mirror had cracked
in long ago
she thought of Alice
    and the rabbit, so

she ate a cookie
sang a verse
thought a bit
      it could be worse

at least the door
would fit her key
even it she were
off harmony
she felt her legs
a bit like stilts
so she’d flamenço
a bit off tilt

she’d whirl in gauze
and silken flutters
just long enough
for townfolk to mutter

for she heard the wind
a’howling down
her stranger had
come back to town

It is so good to see your words again Deca. I have been waiting......patiently.

Your words have a way of brightening my day.
Your words.......have been missed.

smiling...that stranger, huh?

who IS that masked man?

Thank you Deca...

you touch my heart and cheer me on...
and stilts, hmmm? you do know I'm afraid of heights. Not tall heights but short ones. The ones that WON'T kill you, but will just break your legs. sigh...Hugs, and thanks for this. (I'm kinda confused today...)

Decaflame, first of all great rhyming, every subtle secondly great poem, enjoyed the read.
I wonder now is there a lady version of this masked man and does she do house calls too?
well I can dream, can't i..? lol

Decaflame~
Funny thing...I was just thinking, earlier today,
that it had been quite sometime since I had seen you.
It's great to have you back, my friend.
This was wonderfully penned, as always,
and filled with so much emotion.
Big hugs to you,
~Vicky

Decaflame...interesting name...and a very interesting write...I sense a hot time in store for the lady and the stranger...especially if he's been Too Long Gone...one way to warm up a cold November day.

...believe what your heart feels...
