(For My Friend, Elizabeth Santos)

Please sing to me again of rolling hills
Kentucky fences far as eye can see
Secluded woodland trails; those tales instill
Within my soul poetic rhapsody.

Please grace me one more time with tenderness
Poured out upon the page from grandma’s heart
The pride, the joy, unending happiness,
The inspiration little ones impart.

Please sing again of unrequited love
Unanswered questions’ heartache hid within
Of treasured attic moments, mourning dove
And of exotic places you have been.

Create a masterpiece with poet’s pen
Then when you’re done – please do it once again.

Denise, You, again write the most perfect sonnets. This is so beutiful and a deeply heartfelt from the Forum Angel who has given so much to so many. I don't know how to thank you for such a gem of beauty. I will reciprocate with a poem in a few days - got lots going on with Halloween and all. I'm practicing my witch's cackle!
Thanks again, sweet heart of passions. I wish you had time to post more of your beautiful work.
Love and hugs
Liz

Denise, your friend Elizabeth certainly has one in you too---and a great admirer of her work as well--in which you are not alone.

You, yourself are a fine sonneteeress! (I like making up words!--at least I think I made it up! tehe)

~ May you both sail these blue seas forever more ~

Denise,
A wonderful gift to a talented friend. And the bonus, I'm sure, of inspiration. Very well done.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Thank you all so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! To put a tear in someone's eye, a song in someone's heart, a dance in someone's step...I couldn't ask for more!

I wrote this two years ago after experiencing a spell of writer's block. Elizabeth asked me to write her a sonnet and this was the result. Ahhhh, those were the days! Currently I haven't written a word in 7 months, the longest spell of writer's block I've ever had. Sure hope it ends soon. It's beginning to get frustrating, to say the least.

Thanks again for all your lovely comments!

Love ya
Denise
