Beauty and danger
Like drops of Mercury,
Shatters like silver rain
On a glass Mellody,
A silver trumpet, smooth as oil
and sweet as honey
Like aluminum foil,
And some types of money
A river in winter is almost clear,
The shimmering ball drops
On the last night of the year,

Thanks everyone. I play trumpet but it isn't silver... Sigh.... But I am first chair, which is what enspired me to write this.

Liz, this is really neat. I love the way you did the rhyme in
the poem. It seemed to have a melody.

Nice imagery everywhere in this poem and hard to get a hold of an emotion. I really liked the beginning. "Beauty and danger
Like drops of Mercury," Thank you.
