Well,
have you exhausted all the possibilities, yet?
Playing musical chairs with your body
like it's going to fill the void
somewhere between the accumulation
and your projected needs.
I can see you leaving a trail of broken hearts
and scratching heads.
You're soooo..good
at escaping accountablity
when you're not aware of what you're doing...
wrong.
You know,
if you're looking for someone to love you
just the way you are...
you didn't have to go that far.

How many discarded parties will it take
to open your eyes?
How many sets of rumpled clothing
will you kick to the floor
before you pick up your life?
Can you even be alone with yourself
without your skin screaming for contact
and your mind searching for validation?
Why do you need so much attention
to make you feel like a functioning person?
You could be so beautiful,
if you could just be happy,
with you.

I see you
exploring more of your sexuality
and less of yourself.
Isn't it awkward,
to hand that out
like a pamphlet without writing?
Do they know what they're getting?
Do you really think that's all you have
to offer them?
I have seen, so much
to know better
that it kills me
to see you wasting your time
in the mirror.

Sometime, you're going to have to stop.
Once you've exhausted all the possibilities,
you're going to find yourself, short on breath
and see how far you've walked
out of your own way.
I can see you there, someday
when you realize YOU are more beautiful
than your face
and more valuable than your skin.
I'd like to see you, then
because it makes me so sad to see you now,
wearing every avenue like a mask.
I have seen behind all that.
So, if you're looking for someone to love you
just the way you are, you should know
you didn't have to go
that far.

luvlorn, this is a very powerful and
thoughtful write. I enjoyed reading it.
Yes, if a person can't love us for
ourselves, we don't need them. Right?
Thanks for sharing your work.
Love To All,
Ethel
