-To John Lennon-

When the sun sets, i think of you
unspoken words, thoughts unthought,
common words unarticulated

In the morning, i think of you
of the pain felt , the suddenness of fear and then nothing at all

and always, i think of songs unwritten
pianos lieing silent and notes
that can never be played.

Goodbye John, the friend I never met

Hi there!

It's amazing how we can feel a connection with artists that have been dead for a long time... I know how it is. This is a great dedication to John Lennon... He was a great musician and his death was a great loss. Great work!

Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us.

I was always a great fan of John Lennon's music, so this especially caught my eye.  Nice work and welcome to Passion in Poetry.  Please check your e-mail for a special greeting.

It is indeed sad to think of the things that might have been, had someone not died... John Lennon might very well have brought a lot more music to the world, had his time not come quite so soon.  It is truly a shame...

Some very nice writing, welcome to Passions... have fun reading, replying and sharing with all of us.

First, welcome to Passions. I would exclaim wildly, but it's not my style (so don't take it personally).

Wonderful. To be honest I was expecting some lame excuse for a tribute dripping of cheesiness since most people fail to capture sincerity in such poems. (Which is why I never write tributes/love poems) But much to my delight, this did not feel cheap at all. Kudos for you.

Thanks.
