Good sentiments, here.  I've also written about this theme, as I find it almost depressing how many people in the world are so willing to let themselves be deluded into a state of happiness.

When it comes to the choice between joy and knowledge, I'll opt for truth.

In my religion class, we had to rate what meant the most to us. I was not at all surprised that 98 percent chose "Material Goods" as the least important, me among them. Material goods are but temporary, but the soul is forever.

Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp
because the dawn has come.
