The place just beyond my eyes, where my spirit flies.

It’s so hard to write a poem,
Ideas, themes, and rhyme schemes escape me,
What should it be about?
Should it be free verse?
Or a Canterbury Tale in iambic pentameter,
Should I write it darker than dark,
Lighter then light,
Or just gray?
When I write one thing,
It tells another story,
As sirens tempt me to give up,
But I rack my brain against their song,
I need a poem with,
Well… I don’t know yet.

It’s so hard to write a poem,
When one is birthed inside my head,
I have no paper to write it on,
So it gets lost inside me,
Locked up,
Never to see the world again,
And when I do have paper,
My idea is afraid to come out,
Afraid to be immortalized on paper,
My words are fickle,
So very picky.

It’s so hard to write a poem,
Wait I think I just did.

Hah, cute.  Next step is writing a good poem.

Just buggin' you, man... I know how it is, I just came downstairs to the computer lab in the university after trying desperately to write a poem.  I ended up writing something  called "boredome" that was so random and pointless that it's not even worth showing anyone (the only reason I called it Boredome is because I accidentally added an E at the end).

I might post it... might.     Probably not.

Best of luck writing though, Darkness.

I like this. I have the same problem, hence my lack of inspiration lately! I like the Cantebury Tales reference! Here's an idea..... how about a modern version of that? I'll get to work on it!
Ellie (all inspired!)

High above the mucky-muck, castle made of clouds; there sits Wonderboy, sitting oh so proudly....
