Life is but a single rose
full of beauty and wonder.
Giving both life and hope
to all of its surroundings.
Then, in a final swift moment,
bringing death and misery.
Proving to the world that
some of the most beautiful things
can be the source of your destruction.
Its fullness and beauty,
the magnificent red blossoms
lure you into its trap,
and when you stop to enjoy
an amazing as this,
its thorns stab you brutally
stealing your life away.

Life is but a single rose,
pressed inside a book.
Once, it was alive and beautiful,
but now is dead and gone.
It resides as a memory on paper,
a single page in history.
Many other roses are about you,
live, well, and beautiful,
so this dead one is forgotten.
Its magnificence is decaying,
fading slowly away.
So remember the single Rose,
the one that deprived you of
the fullness of your life.
Note that time when you stopped
and it stole your life away.

Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can't, and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it. - Robert F

Beauty can be deceitful...Always remember that. This is such an amazing poem, by the way! *applause*

(big hugggsssssss) But even when the thorns prick at your skin and cast blood across the pages, know that what appears to be dead becomes potpourri and in no time true beauty will whirl all around you! (sigh) This is heartachingly well-written, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet David, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

A pressed flower doesn't necessarily mean that something is dead..Good work though.
