My mind is tired hurting broken
the thoughts have poured out
It has nothing left to give
sleep is what it needs

My mind loves the verses of Larue and Dogwood
It rests on a pillow and drifts away
To the places it loved to see
overlooking the not so good memories

Days on the beach and pier
When it had the vast sea to ponder
The noises and sounds were music to unfamiliar ears
The colors and sights were amazing

The one night my mind feel in love
with a tall brown eyed skater
The mind was in a whirl
But well all know sometimes the mind and heart don't agree

My mind forgets the pain that one boy started
Remembering that boys have made pain for its life
just another memory and lesson to be stored
It gathers on the other dusty memories

My mind is now rested
the memories are vivid now
the thoughts are pouring out
It just need to drift

" I think I got a tan from the light in which i was basking."

wvplayernotreally~
This is a nicely written piece
and I really enjoyed reading it.

   "My mind is now rested
    the memories are vivid now
    the thoughts are pouring out
    It just need to drift"

We all need to 'drift' in our memories once in awhile.
You've expressed this beautifully.

I enjoyed this a lot, too much even. I know exactly what you are saying...and you did it so well. Excelent write here!
