I wrote these today while being a substitute receptionist. I was inspired by the truck/s going by.

Industry

Spinning wheels
tradesman’s deals
riding asphalt seas

out at dawn
for morning run
vast clientele to please

transcontinental carriage
a trade and tariff marriage
economy’s true friend

the one behind the throttle
won’t tarry long, nor dawdle
until journey’s at an end

Truckin’ Lunch

Lunch on the run
can be a bit of fun
if you have servers in the know

they could stand at the curb
so as not to disturb
your routine and great deliv’ry flow

then you could make a pass
in less time than getting gas
grabbing up a bit of grub and Jo

for java is the thing
that makes a trucker sing
above the wheels that carry to and fro

and munchies for the ribs
for which one needs no bibs
‘d keep a trucker headin’ down the road

yes, to keep those wheels a spinnin’
is a way to keep a winnin’
at transportin’ and deliverin’ the load

so give me lunch on the run
twixt the rise or settin’ sun
and life’ll keep a hunky-dory roll.

I saw the title of this,  who the author was
and I said to myself...."UH OH,  what is
Virginia up to this time?"....  I wasn't
