One Way Street

Life is like a one way street
Sights to see, people to meet
If you pass something by then you must keep going,
There’s no turning back, so it’s no use slowing.
If you run out of fuel then you must keep walking
Cos’ help ain’t gonna come when you sit around talking
And at the end of the day, you’ve blisters on feet,
Cos’ things aren’t easy on a one way street.

And perhaps you’ll find an intersection,
Where the friends you’ve met may change direction,
The road you travel is full of bends,
Good times and bad times and life long friends.
But don’t feel sad to leave them behind
Cos’ in the end you will find,
That later in life again you’ll meet
That’s how things are on a one way street.

And as we travel into the setting sun
We begin to remember the times we had fun,
The times of love, the times we shed tears,
When we were angry or conquered our fears.
But in the end we all die,
We gave life a shot- at least we tried
But look at all you’ve achieved; your life is complete
That’s how things are…on a one way street
