There used to be a time when I would believe
a store is just that..nothing more
now we live in an age of constant paradoxes
built side by side sleek dress shops
slick looks as corporate models brush by
brushed steel and glass mega stores
the upper floors are for the Armani line
me... I have nothing against fine garb
there is the creative process
yet here comes the contradiction
a part of me can live with the 10 dollar shirt
the other recognizes the need to pay for quality
and to have...at the expense of somebody you say?
high end clothes...somebody will fill the niche
and the 'others'..there are less dignified 'friperies'
friendly Salvation Army type outlets...
still I veer through the high arched complex glitter
that reinforces a complex as old as the book of Job
clothes don't make the person
yet so many are bent at becoming better people
through repeated store front worship?

Touche'

And is it really necessary to wear a name, other than your own, on the pocket or sleeve of your shirt?  I think not ... good thought provoking read here.

And I bow humbly before the alter of Armani...
Where I sacrifice my hard earned dollars.

A very true and interesting write, Martin...

It fell down way too fast and didn't get enough replies...
