    Dissected by the Moon

It was last night when across the floor
a slice of white came through the door
I was dissected by the moon
into variegated delight of room

As from my sleep I woke to see
all of me rumpled satin cream
as the movement of the galaxies
crossed the valley of my dreams

I turned to dimensions more than three
and even through the screen this beam
kissed my breath to sharp intake
and made of me a shadowed gate

To Delphi with frenzy of Pythia
oracle of ancient sound you see
I felt Apollo reach my bed
whispering words of love long dead

It mattered not that warm sweet wind
came with the slice that cut me thin
I knew the breath was born from bone
that crossed through veil of time unknown

So bitter sweet the touch of rare
in ancient Greece my youth so fair
that spilled from out this mouth of pearl
it left me never more a girl

Oh my, the timing on this post! ROTFL. You posted this the same time I posted one about dumping nuclear waste on the moon.
I do like your moon poem much better.

the silent face of God
In lunar smiles
blew its chilling breath
of spent time
across all those who innocently slept
Unto the morn, they awoke
transformed with new words of faith
and maturity of life

Dang, girl.  Your muse is enchanting,
a bit vivacious, and extremely sensitive...

Smiling here...

(smiles) Oh Martie, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I love it, this had me imagining the gorgeous islands and olive vines there and the gorgeous moon shimmering! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

You have a wonderful gift, Martie...
I have often awoken at night and had that experience...but never, never would I have been able to write it like you did...
This is marvelous...

You're amazing Martie !! Enjoyed. Chris

I wish my muse had left those lines with me.

you are so awesome...and this poem makes me giddy...the moon as your muse is second to none and the fact that you rhymed makes me mothy heart smile...
all I can say is IWIHWT!!!

In the space between now and then
I lost the fire, lost a friend
and Ill never be the same again
Still, I believe in the innocence
we gave away.
