I was inspired by reading this about Dumping Nuclear Waste on the Moon....in today's paper

Dump the moon they say.
Well I'd rather moon the dump!!
I ab-soul-utely refuse
to dump nuclear refuse
on the face I look at each night
when I think about LOVE!!!

EXCUSE ME!
But the engineer who thought up this idea
is definitely not a poet, and probably
not much of a lover, either.

Where Lies the Waste?
(inspired by Kacy)

where lies the waste of mankind?
in an unstretched mind?
in uncured souls?
or byproducts of time?
find a dead star
landfill for comets
shine cannot beam twice
if spoiled by
the waste of mankind

Smiling at your reply, Jeff.

(sigh) Oh Kacy, while it is only one opinion out of so many, I don't like that idea at all for we don't even know of the long-term effects and also because I love the moon as it is left alone! (sigh) This is a powerful provoking poem, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I loved your poem, Kacy... and I think that the ideas of what we should do with our nuclear waste get more and more rediculous...
We have a nuclear plant in South Haven, Mi...
about 40 miles from here, and they ran out of storage space for their waste about 10 yrs ago.  Now they are keeping them in casks under Lake Michigan... very scary stuff, but not as scary as driving it across the country to Yucca Mountain...
That would not only expose them to terrorist attacks during transport, not to mention putting motorists at risk...
but the Yucca Mountain repository is now an internationally known nuclear dump...
And the Moon.......that is even more rediculous yet...
I don't claim to have answers but I think we need to find a good solution really soon.

This kind of thinking just drives me absolutely wild! What kind of an a** thinks it's okay to litter other planets and moons? We've nearly destroyed our beautiful Earth, now let's take that crap and destroy the Moon. Grrrr.....

And as for Yucca Mountain. Don't even get me started. One of my dear friends lives in NV and the people there are just ready to rip someone's face off for coming up with the idea of dumping the nuclear waste in their state.

And did you see on the news today that our beloved President is NOT attending the world conference on the environment?

Thank you for writing about this, it get's me all pissed off, but maybe if more of us get mad, something good will happen.

Hugs, Marti

LMAO!  Having known a few engineers, I'd have to agree with you!

Noah, yes, leave our Love Luna alone!

Lyra, we humans really do know how to make a mess of things, don't we?

Marti, YES, I heard our peerless leader isn't going to the summit. Why is that NOT a surprise to me?

Duncan, I read what the man actually said, and his explanation convinced me I had prejudged him correctly.

Kacy,
You're my favorite hippie! I love you for who you are more than you know...

LOL at your moonies, Lauren.

Martin, can you believe the nonsense some people come up with as a solution to our nuclear waste pollution?
